| Before purchasing the farm in Sycamore, the
McMenamin's lived (and worked) on the "Bates
Place" in Cortland, DeKalb County, Illinois. From left to Right.... John, Margaret, Ellen, Hugh, Mike, Hugh Sr., Kate and Mary (McQuire) McMenamin. Kate would commit suicide some seven years after this photo was taken and James (Jim) is not in the picture as he is already (1908) married. |
